About Barbara Margolis

Barbara graduated suma cum laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Design.

After serving as Designer for Chase Furniture of Washington, D.C. for seven years, she began Barbara Margolis Interiors, now in existence for 24 years.

Working from her studio in Silver Spring, MD, she has completed interiors throughout the Baltimore, Washington, and Annapolis areas, with projects in Rehoboth Beach, Philadelphia, Palm Beach, Hilton Head, Denver and Chicago.

Barbara is licensed in the state of Maryland and has appeared in Baltimore Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, Remodeling Magazine, and most recently, The Washington Post as a regular Design Contributor (in 2018, 2017, 2015, 2012 and 2009--see below). Her designs have also been featured in D.C. By Design and the 2011 Columbia Home Tour.

Barbara has donated her time and services to several non-profit organizations, including, Oseh Shalom Congregation, St. Camillus Catholic Church,  NAMI of Maryland, The Clarice Smith Center for Performing Arts at The University of Maryland, Stroke Comeback Center, and most recently A Wider Circle in an ongoing capacity.  Barbara is a member of the National Association of Professional Women.
